SHYOLANDA BROWN
This scholarship opportunity has been established in loving memory of the late Shyolanda Brown, who was a dedicated wife, mother, and advocate for education.
As a native of Gary, Indiana, and graduate of Roosevelt High School, Shyolanda went on to attend Indiana State University on an academic scholarship. She graduated in 1991 with a degree in Criminology.
After starting her own family with her husband, Arthur, they made it their mission to position their 4 children for better opportunities and high achievement through education.
They’ve accomplished that, and Shyolanda’s legacy lives on through the Shyolanda Brown Family Foundation Scholarship.
Now, one of Denver metro-area’s most promising African American high school student athletes will be awarded $6,000 over the course of their 4-year college or university career.
