SHYOLANDA BROWN

This scholarship opportunity has been established in loving memory of the late Shyolanda Brown, who was a dedicated wife, mother, and advocate for education.

As a native of Gary, Indiana, and graduate of Roosevelt High School, Shyolanda went on to attend Indiana State University on an academic scholarship. She graduated in 1991 with a degree in Criminology.

After starting her own family with her husband, Arthur, they made it their mission to position their 4 children for better opportunities and high achievement through education.

They’ve accomplished that, and Shyolanda’s legacy lives on through the Shyolanda Brown Family Foundation Scholarship.

Now, one of Denver metro-area’s most promising African American high school student athletes will be awarded $6,000 over the course of their 4-year college or university career.

We believe access to education is the foundation for both opportunity and achievement.

The Shyolanda Brown Family Foundation makes available undergraduate scholarships to one of Denver metro-area’s exceptional, African-American high school student athletes seeking to attend a 4-year college or university.

Brown Scholars receive up to $1,500 per year for 4 years, for a total of $6,000.
